Registration is not required but GREATLY appreciated so that we can anticipate supplies.
Join us for a fun morning event 10:30 - 11:30, Impermanent Art workshop in which the monks will demonstrate aspects of the traditional butter sculpture (using play dough) and you will each have an opportunity to try your hand at it. We will have play dough and white paper plates. Impermanence of all things is a value and belief that Tibetan Buddhism emphasises and so art is made of impermanent materials. Make something beautiful just for the sake of it. This is a great event for kids to interact with a few of the monks.
11:30 - 12:30 We will have meditation and chanting. All are welcome. This is especially interesting for the adults though the chanting can be quite mesmerising for children.
We accept any and all donations. If you can register in advance, it is placed here at $30 and we very much appreciate it to be able to anticipate the size of the group.
We will also have merchandise from the monastery's surrounding community for purchase on the day.
